Licks es una banda argentina de música instrumental formada en Córdoba, cuya propuesta se desarrolla en el cruce entre jazz-rock, groove, rock y ritmos latinoamericanos. Con una estética enérgica y contemporánea, el grupo construye un lenguaje donde la composición y la improvisación conviven con una marcada presencia rítmica.
Integrada por Francisco Altamira, Santiago Basualdo, Milton Morel e Ivo Argüello, la banda comenzó a consolidarse en la escena musical cordobesa a partir de sus presentaciones en vivo, desarrollando una identidad que combina la libertad del jazz con la intensidad del rock y una concepción del groove atravesada por influencias latinas.
En 2024 participó del Festival de Jazz de Invierno de Córdoba, compartiendo programación con referentes y proyectos de distintas generaciones de la escena local. Su propuesta fue destacada por atraer nuevas audiencias al circuito jazzístico de la ciudad.
En 2025 publicó Logan, su álbum debut, integrado por seis composiciones instrumentales. El trabajo articula jazz, rock y groove desde una concepción de banda fuertemente vinculada a la interpretación colectiva y fue acompañado por una pieza audiovisual concebida en relación con la secuencia musical del álbum. Logan fue editado por iNB Música y presentado a los Premios Gardel 2026 en la categoría Mejor Álbum de Jazz.
Con una sonoridad expansiva, rítmica y abierta a la fusión, Licks forma parte de una nueva generación de música instrumental argentina que conecta jazz, rock y lenguajes latinoamericanos desde una perspectiva contemporánea.
Licks is an Argentine instrumental music band formed in Córdoba, whose sound develops at the intersection of jazz-rock, groove, rock, and Latin American rhythms. With an energetic and contemporary aesthetic, the group creates a musical language in which composition and improvisation coexist with a strong rhythmic drive.
Featuring Francisco Altamira, Santiago Basualdo, Milton Morel, and Ivo Argüello, the band began establishing itself within Córdoba’s music scene through its live performances, developing an identity that combines the freedom of jazz with the intensity of rock and a groove-driven approach shaped by Latin influences.
In 2024, Licks performed at the Córdoba Winter Jazz Festival, sharing the program with established artists and projects from different generations of the local scene. The group’s music was recognized for attracting new audiences to the city’s jazz circuit.
In 2025, Licks released Logan, its debut album, featuring six instrumental compositions. The record brings together jazz, rock, and groove through a band-oriented approach strongly rooted in collective performance and was accompanied by an audiovisual piece conceived in relation to the album’s musical sequence. Logan was released by iNB Música and submitted for consideration for the 2026 Gardel Awards in the Best Jazz Album category.
With an expansive, rhythmic sound open to fusion, Licks is part of a new generation of Argentine instrumental music connecting jazz, rock, and Latin American musical languages from a contemporary perspective.
